From Humble Beginnings....

A blogger I follow recently showed a picture of her beautiful country kitchen, it was roomy with plenty of work space.

My kitchen?  Not so much. Small, cramped with room for one, barely. No giant kitchen with acres of gleaming granite and stainless steel.

Yet I manage,  on a hand-me-down stove/oven and a work space that is barely 3' wide.  And you know what? It works for me!

The dishes are done, a loaf of bread is rising on the counter.... life is good!

Someday I may have that nice kitchen, but for now, I'll keep my tiny kitchen and keep cooking for you!

  1. Bigger kitchens = more cleaning! Your's looks just right to me x

  2. Bravo, David. It's easy to be a "great" cook when you have oodles of space, loads of gadgets, and an army of flunkeys to prep for you and do the washing up (I'm thinking "celebrity" chefs here), but I have more respect for someone who turns out good food without the benefit of all that.

  3. Thank you Mark! I like the prep, now if I just had some dishwashers!

  4. Bravo...bigger is not always better!

  5. Thanks Theanne and Baron! Well, maybe a little bigger would be OK....

  6. It is not the size of the kitchen that makes a great cook! I have had many different kitchens and my fondest memories are of tiny kitchens where organization was key, and suited me well...I enjoyed cooking there. You seem very organized!

  7. I think you are right Egretta, after 10 years in that little space I've got everything within arms reach and know eher it is without thinking about it. Of course, if someone else puts something in the wrong spot, I know about it right away.

  8. I guess you may want to place a facebook icon to your website. Just marked down the site, but I had to make this manually. Simply my 2 cents.

  9. Hi Anonymous, sorry you missed it, it's right on the right hand side. Under the FACEBOOK badge.
    Keep the change ;)
